Messaging and activation are essential for influencing behavior, driving action, and connecting with audiences. MessageGears' robust tools help transform messages into outcomes—whether encouraging purchases, newsletter sign-ups, or responses to calls-to-action. By combining storytelling with strategic execution, effective messaging and activation fuel successful campaigns, fostering engagement and delivering lasting impact.
To successfully launch a campaign in MessageGears, you must complete the following steps:
- Define your audience
- Build your content
- Select your campaign delivery mechanism
- Launch your campaign
These steps do not necessarily need to be done in order, however to launch a campaign, you must have defined your audience first. For some campaign types you might only use the audience (for example, external campaigns), while other campaigns will also include content.
Defining your audience
MessageGears' provides several options for defining your audience, including creating more detailed segments using our Blueprints. Through our direct connection to your data warehouse, you also have access to recipient or supplemental data about your audience that you can then use to personalize the content of your campaign.
For more information on building audiences and Blueprints, see the following articles:
- Creating and Editing Audiences - use our drag-and-drop audience builder, define your audience using SQL, or upload recipients from an API endpoint.

Building your content
Use MessageGears' campaign templates to build the content for your email, push, and SMS campaigns. Based on the audience you choose or your data connections, you can personalize your content to whatever extent needed. For in-app message campaigns, you build the content as part of the campaign workflow. For more information, see the following articles:
