MessageGears' direct access to your data warehouse is a fundamental feature for defining Audiences and Segmentation. By connecting directly to one or more of your internal databases, you can securely and seamlessly leverage a broader range of customer information. This capability enables the use of multiple data sources for audience targeting, offer and content management, analytics, and various other applications.
Adding and Managing Database Connections
When setting up Database Connections, it’s essential to configure them before creating an Audience. These connections provide the settings and credentials needed for Accelerator to access the database containing the required customer data. For detailed instructions on configuring Database Connections, see Adding and Managing Database Connections.
Audiences
In MessageGears, an audience refers to a group of individuals who share common characteristics, behaviors, or preferences, making them a foundational cohort for further segmentation. An audience serves as a starting point, representing a broad category of people that aligns with your marketing goals or campaign objectives.
These groups are designed to be flexible and reusable, ensuring they remain relevant for various strategies and campaigns. For example, an audience might consist of "all users opted into push notifications," creating a base group that can be refined or segmented using Blueprints to deliver tailored messages or offers. For more information about Audiences, see Creating and Editing Audiences
Segmentation using Blueprints
Blueprints are a powerful tool for creating dynamic Segmentation. They work by processing a base Audience through a series of conditions and decision points to pinpoint more specific segments. For example, a segment might consist of "all users opted in for push notifications, who made a purchase in the last 30 days where that purchase included running shoes".
These refined segments can then be directly targeted in marketing campaigns or exported to external destinations, ensuring precision and relevance in your marketing efforts. For more information about creating Segments using Blueprints, see Blueprints for Campaign Segmentation.
