Initiatives Released
External Campaigns Folders and Permissions
Use Case
A fresh new look is coming to the Accelerator folder tree view experience. We’ve not only added folder view functionality to external campaigns, but we’ve also given a much needed facelift to the overall experience. Previously, teams were not able to leverage the already available permissions groups to dictate security rulesets on what users could and could not do for external campaigns. With the release of 24.1.2, we’re also adding the full permission group feature set to external campaigns, allowing administration staff to better control user access on a campaign by campaign basis.
Goals
- Introduce the permissions feature set to external campaigns, allowing administration staff to control user group access or edit abilities per campaign
- Introduce the folder tree view to external campaigns, allowing marketers to organize external campaigns as they see fit
- Make various quality of life improvements to the folder view, allowing for easier navigation
Capabilities
External campaigns now support folder tree view
Folder view is now available from the external campaign list page. This new page will feature a design update from the preview folder views, and contains multiple quality of life improvements with easier navigation. Users can now create folders & sub folders, as well as see overview information in the right hand side for the selected folder or campaign. Select a folder, then the create button to start making campaigns inside the necessary folder. Campaigns can also be drag and dropped to sort as needed.
External campaigns now support permissions
Permissions can now be accessed for each campaign via the overflow menu on both the list view page and folder view page. These rulesets follow the same implementation as other areas of Accelerator, and use permission groups to allow you to customize each campaigns rules. Groups can be given the Read, Update, Execute, or Delete rules per campaign and folder.
- Read controls the user groups ability to see the campaign in the list/folder views, or navigate to the campaign from other areas of Accelerator
- Update controls the user groups ability to save changes on a campaign
- Execute controls the user groups ability to launch or schedule a campaign
- Delete controls the user groups ability to delete a campaign
Facebook Custom Audiences Add/Remove/Replace Capabilities
Use Case
Today, our Facebook Custom Audiences destination supports adding people to lists, but does not support removing people from the list or replacing the list. Adding the options to remove or replace will give users more control over their Facebook Custom Audience lists directly from Accelerator and will provide GDPR compliance.
Goals
- Allow marketers to add an entire audience to the Facebook List
- Allow marketers to remove an entire audience from the Facebook list
- Allow marketers to perform the add and remove action at the recipient level
- Allow marketers to fully replace the Facebook list
Capabilities
Add recipients to Facebook Custom Audiences list
This is the same behavior that an External Campaign to Facebook has today - recipients are appended to an existing list, and any repeats in that list won’t be duplicated. This action will apply to the entire audience.
Remove recipients from Facebook Custom Audiences list
This action will remove specified recipients from the list in Facebook. This action requires at least 1 identifier to specify the recipients to be removed: EXTERN_ID, FN, LN, EMAIL
. This action will apply to the entire audience.
Replace a Facebook Custom Audiences list
This action will replace the entire list in Facebook with the audience being sent with the External Campaign. Note that audiences sizes must be less than 100 million recipients, and a list cannot be replaced while it is actively updating.
Use recipient data to perform an action to the Facebook Custom Audiences list
Add an Action
column to your recipient data to have the add
or remove
action apply at a per-recipient level instead of to the entire audience.
Updated Analytics screen with additional information and the ability to copy error messages
The Analytics screen is updated to provide details for the action applied to each job, as well as the name of the file or list being updated. Additionally, users can now view the error message for a failed job and copy the details for that error message.
Facebook Limited Data Usage
Use Case
Facebook Custom Audiences recognized Limited Data Usage for California residents. Facebook will automatically detect which recipients are located in California, so that their data can be handled in a complaint fashion per the California Consumer Privacy Act.
Goals
- Give marketers the option to opt an External Campaign in to respecting Limited Data Usage.
Capabilities
Limited Data Usage option on External Campaigns
When enabled, Facebook will perform geolocation to identify California residents and restrict the use of their data per California's terms for CCPA compliance.
